16" wheel offset to tuck 4x4 metal

I was wondering about what offset wheels i will need to tuck with 4x4 metal and a 16" wheel for now the rears not a problem b/c its getting cut down...

Russ so you mean, 25 or more without spindles? i just took my spindles off and im getting rid of them till i get bigger wheels...

only if you have 4x4 front fenders. If you dont, you will need +37 on a 16x7.
Width matters too, A 7.5 inch wide wheel (with 4x4 fenders) will need +32, an 8 will need +40 or better, 8.5 will need +45 or better.
And keep in mind, these are FRONT offsets, because he said he narrowed the rear. Add a couple mm to make it fir the rear 4x4 box too.

Well there gonna be 16x7 so what would i be safe with what offset would a 2x4 need to tuck?

with 2wd front and rear you will need +35-37 at MINIMUM. If you pull your rear fenders out a bit you can tuck a +31 in the rear but you'll have to trim the fender lips.

So the higher the number the more the wheel will tuck and the lower the number the less they will tuck right...

it is what it says it is. offset.
So the mounting surface is OFFSET from the wheel centerline by the given measurement in mm. POSITIVE OFFSET means the mounting surface is closer to the front of the wheel, this is how FWD rims are. NEGATIVE OFFSET means the mounting surface is closer to the back of the wheel, you have likely seen a dodge ram with this type of wheel, sticking waaay out.
Because its measured from the wheel centerline, you cant use the same offset on different width wheels and expect them to tuck. Extra width gets split over the front and back half of the rim, so you have to realize that when buying wheels. A +40 7 inch wide wheel will tuck great, a +40 8.5 inch wide wheel will tuck NOT AT ALL.
