im just saying you can do alot better for your money trust me. Alpine is crap, ive installed it for peope and never liked it. rms means alot , you can burp most subs at a high wattage but for constant listening it will fry the coils and motor. ive seen 149.7 on a termpro mic with one 8 so numbers arent impressive, because its 90% install and 10% equipment. as far as making it look like a tweeter, i take it you havent had much experience with high end car audio such as digital designs, resonant engineering, or even adire. DD is big as fuck and when installed correctly sounds very clean.
i have 2 RE SE10's and a elemental designs nine.1 ............i play with highend equipment.
id love to see `49.7 out of a single 8. if thats the case why isnt he running street A in meca? he could prolly go to finals every year. rms really doesnt mean a whole lot. we (me and a buddy) have put a clean 900 to the type r with no signs of damage at any volume. i have videos of what a type r can do to a 300z. i designed a box, 2.5 at 33, for the type r and it is rediculously loud. and if numbers dont impress you, that bothers me. loud is loud...period.
i can see 147, but 149 is pusin it. thats a lot of work to get out of a single 8, but props to him for just gettin a 147 out of it. but thats a 51 hz tone. what does he do on music, thats what numbers show what a true system can do. 150 at below 40 hz with one 12 type r, just shows these things get rediculous on music.
a guy on another forum is going for mid 150's in the 20's. THAT right there is rediculous.
