i would suggest a mechanical way over trusting people with the life of your truck, all it takes is 1 guy to trip over something, next thing you know you just totaled a truck in your garage.

If the beds off, you can lift it and have another friend push/pull the frame forward from under it. No one carrying anything has to move even an inch. You dont have to lift it very high that way either.

rusty you must be one heck of a man to lift a cab while someone rolls the frame out.

haha YOU being a figurative term, not a collective term. YOU being YOU and YOUR FRIENDS.

I'm not a heck of a man, I couldnt even be an ugly woman.

I ran an engine hoist (cherry picker) throught the drivers side door opening after the doors were removed and tacked a piece of 2" square tubing side to side, wraped a chain around it and had a freind just help me balance it while I raised it up and just rolled it off the frame. Mine is a full size Chevy with a stick so I had an access hole. You could cut one in your truck if it is an automatic, you are going to have to cut and raise the trans tunnel anyway. Just make sure you cut the access hole as close to the front as possible, the front is heavier than the back if the dash is still in. hope this helps.

when i changed the cab on my ranger i just layed some thick padding on the drive on one side and 2 of us lifted the other side and kinda "rolled" it off granted i know its not the best way but it got the job done

Keele, I see you are from Sedalia. Are you going to Midwest Dragfest? If so, Hit me up. That will be the first show I take my truck too. Went last year and had a blast. I have been getting about 5 hrs. of sleep a night trying to make sure it is done for that show. Hell, I even have my wife out there helping me finish it up. It's been a long 4 years coming it hasn't left my garage but once to get exhaust put on it. I figure since Dragfest is so close I will drive it to that show. If you are going, hit me up. I will be in a 1990 blue body dropped full size chevy. Get that cherry picker and get that cab off. By the way you could probably do it yourself if you got the ballance right.

my truck was completely stripped when i pulled mine off so it was real light. all i did was unbolt the cab mounts and lifted each side up while my mom put blocks on each corner. then i pulled the frame out, then lifted each side and kicked the blocks out and set the cab on the ground. i didnt actually move it anywhere but i took it off practicly by myself and it wasnt hard.
