I used some hammer-tone paint on mine, pretty good stuff

The hammered paint turns out pretty cool. I may do mine black like that. But also thought of using undercoating. Used it on my gas tank and it came out nice.

tractor paint- masse furguson grey from tractor supply $20 a gallon and easy as hell to spray

we went to oreillys and got a gallon of chassis black its $28 a gallon u pour it in the gun and spray it that simple

i am in the middle on painting a 55 chevy frame for a customer and i am using omni basecoat, clearcoat. its coming out sweet. there are pics of it on dropndrag.com in the forum under company listings, for Slick Werks Kustom Auto Body

i powdercoated mine first then sanded with 800 grit then based and cleared it,looks pretty good and turned out flat and smooth
