Maybe its a load of shit, maybe not, but its worth a shot.
We are going to hit close to $4.00 a gallon by the summer. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.
Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 issuper cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace.... not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxonand Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp (sic) out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friendseach, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON'T purchase ANY gasoline from EXXON and MOBIL. That's all.
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out toten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.

I KNOW GAS PRICES ARE GOING TO SUCK BUT THERE IS NOT MUCH WE CAN DO ABOUT IT. JUST GOTA SUCK IT UP FOR THE TIME BEING OR GET BETTER GAS MILAGE VEHICLES. I DRIVE A TAHOE GAS GETS REAL EXPENSIVE. THERE ARE LOTS OF THESE LETS DO THIS LETS DO THAT WAYS TO TRY AND GET BACK AT THEM BUT REALLY IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT IT IS NOT GOING TO AFFECT THEM THAT MUCH MOST LIKELY. I BET IF YOU REALLY LOOK INTO EVERYTHING THERE ARE A FEW MAJOR COMPANIES THAT SUPPLY ALL THE SMALLER ONES WHICH IN TURN STILL MAKES THE BIG GUYS MONEY IF YOU DONT BUY FROM THE, BECASUE THE SAMLL GUYS ARE SELLING THE BIG GUYS'S PRODUCT.

i like the idea, but here in canada i already pay over 4.00 dollars a gallon. it gets a little tuff when you own a full size dodge 4x4 and a full size chev. i think its time to sell the dodge.

that shit dont work, the only way we are going to see the price go down is if the government gets involved oh wait there pockets a lined with oil company money so that wont work, the reason they charge so much for gas is simple and it has nothing to do with weather,storms, or oil barrel prices they do it because they can period. they are not hurting for supply and there is no shortage of oil and they are not in any danger of losing money. last year exxon/mobil made a 75 billion doller profit or some shit like that so by charging more for gas they make more profit PERIOD they are not charging more to stay afloat so to speak, they charge more to make more
unless some CEO's of these companys or some of the ones taking there hand outs in the gov. start ending up face down in a river they are not going to stop this bullshit

anyone who has taken even a basic economy class will tell you that when demand falls for inelastic goods (like gasoline) the prices will go UP and production will go DOWN.
You want to hurt the oil companies, find a replacement. The real resistance is not from the oil companies though, it is from our own government, who knows that our economy is directly impacted by the oil industry. A perpetual motion machine that requires no energy would put millions of americans out of work.
Real change is based on reduced dependency, not on singling out producers.

well for one Exxon and Mobil is ONE large company not 2.. and if you want that stupid ass idea to work you better pitch it to China they use more fule and oil than we do in all of North America, shit like that never works anyway, with all the subsidiaries that are owned and partnered with ExxonMobil you wouldnt be able to by gas Anywhere....
