For a full colour change, I would charge around 4000 canadian. That is dissasembled, sanded, sealed, and painted, not buffed though, I have a local shop do the buffing and let the customer pay directly, to save them money.
the shop im at now is doing a full color change on a camaro for $6000. this includes stripping it down to bare metal and some new sheetmetal but no mods.
6k for a color change to the bare metal? i wouldnt just repaint one for 6k. also 6k to do a kit car iswaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to cheap.
were doin a 53 bel air right now, shaved modling/handles/locks/hood welded, i patched 2 rust holes in the LR quater and that was it, not a kandy paint job either, its runnin them 8k.
yea, its a buddy of the owners and he's not really in a rush, its been there for a couple of months.
if i have the basic skills of painting automotive would it be wise to rent a booth somewhere in town and do it myself or fork over the shitload of money to get it painted
We just got done doing a truck here jambing in doors, wrapping the two-tone behind the cab and into the caddy buckets for $2150. That included shaving the driver's door handle, finxing a caved in bedside, and reworking almost every bit of mud for the idiot who did the body work. Then the guy had the nerve to think he was getting ripped off!! Guess we should up the anty on our prices too..

That was with absolutely no assembly, $6K labor only, just making that ripply ass fiberglass flat again and paint as flat as glass (almost anyway...) He'll probably have another $1500+ in materials on that job when it's all said and done. I just hope the dude doesn't fuck it up putting it together!
For the guy that's interested in renting a booth, only you know what your capable of and the quality you'll be happy with.
Damn im goin up LOL. I been doin mid size cars disassembled, body repair, jambing and all with candy for 4k...........

well the term "you get what you pay for" definately applies here. I had my truck fully painted, both doors shaved, tailgate shaved with handle moved to inside, and the smooth pan molded in for $3400 by a well respected shop here in ky. I have pictures in my profile
Hey man who in Kentucky painted your truck?
Pyle's Body Shop in Cambellsburg. They do sick work
never heard of it, how far away is it from lexington?
