I went to by steel for my Mazda and found out that 2"x3" was $75 for a 20' length. 2"x2"x.120 was only $40.

2x2 should be good right?

Remember that it is not a pickup truck anymore, it is a blazer.

I am also running the rails under the axel and above the axle, which would add strength.

Anybody had problems with 2x2? Before I buy them?

2x2 is too small. i wouldnt even run 2x2 1/4 wall, nevermind .120. the vertical strength just isnt there. Why would you go less then 2x3? I didnt lose any headroom on my blazer with 2x3 standing vertically. And your exhaust is going to take up more then 2 inches anyways. I wouldnt risk 2x2.

i would def. go with .25 wall unless its chromoly which would be very expensive...thos prices seem a little high to me also...shop around a little....i usually get 2x3 with 3/16 wall for 60 bucks per 24 feet....but 2x2 will work but make sure u have a lot of crossmembers

2x3 3/16 wall is $160 for 24' here. Dont complain. Buy the 2x3 or wait till you can.

definately want to use at least 3/16 thick material, especially if you are going 2x2. But i would recomend using 2x3 as well.

Def. 2X3 w/ 3/16 wall at least. Where are you to get a 20' stick of 2X3 for 75 bucks? I'm coming to your town
