The 89 and 93 computer are very different so I don't think the chip will work, especially if it's an automatic application, the 93 will have the stuff to operate an electronic transmission. If both were manual transmission setups you're closer but I still wouldn't put the 89 chip into the 93 computer because of differences in design. But you could probably in that case get away with running a 93 computer in your 89.
Call Whipple; they don't sell stuff for TBI's (or even the Vortec's) anymore but they ought to at least give you some tech support!

I would first check the computers, if your computer has the same plugs, use his computer.
The 93 if it has a 4l60/80 then the pcms would be different.
700r4 you can use his pcm and chip.
Other wise you will need a custom prom for the fuel/ timing changes. This should be done on a dyno.
If you email me at work with a dyno plot I can give you a number to someone that can make you a chip for the older pcm.
