i know for a fact i got more than 2 inches of clearance b/w the tires and the fender wells on mine, ill have to double check that 1.5" measurement...but from the last time i checked it i was almost certain i could do it with the c-notch and not a bridge
well, the wheel wells arnt the main problem, its the clamshell bracket like i mentioned earlier, the driveshaft will come up and hit it right after the axle enters the c-notch. and then youll also run into problems with the bags and shocks bottoming out if you modify the gas tank crossmember.
yeah the driveshaft is 1/2" from touchin the bracket air-ride uses sittin on the frame. i was gonna get the gas tank cross member from suicidedoors and mount the tab for the wishbone and then i would have enough clearence based on what i remember, as far as the shocks and bags i never tested that...i told mtmcalli to go with the suicidedoors link cause its cheaper and will work just as good..
what's the clamshell bracket and will the suicide doors lifted gas tank crossmember correct this?
i was thinking you could just use a behind and under the axle kit from sd and the 2.5" notch with the bolt in three link and you should be able to get a bit lower with out having to cut the shit outa your bed
I have 235/55/16's and Im 2 1/8" from laying frame and 1 1/8" from laying the carrier bearing and thats dragged flat. It would lay the bearing if it wasnt flat. Now I have my bags over the axle w/ only 1 1/2 leaf's left. All Id have to do is run a 215/35/18 put in my carrier bearing x-member and put a pair of 2" drop spindles and it will lay frame. Now w/ the air bar Im not sure if that will get you any lower then having it over the axle but thats the way I was going to do it so I wouldnt have to cut my bed either. Im trying to do the same thing as you with the biggest rim I can get under it. Maybe try a 215/35/19 that will save you another 1/2". Hit me up one day if you wanna talk a bit about this.
