i have a 2000 chevy silverado with air ride technologies arms and 2" drop spindles. My question is the upper ball joint maxes out. I was wondering if i should move the upper control arms mounts up to free so play in the arm, or cut the arm to give it a new angle both will be strengthened and re enforced. I know this is not easy but want my options and want to do it the best way.

Thanks Danny

Wow this is the suspension fourm all 61 views and no one has any ideas or opinions

What about if i but it this way what will affect my ride more. Moving the arms up I heard will make the wheels suck in when dropped. Changing the arm angle will free up the ball joint but could possible make it harder to align?

I would probably buy a set of upper and lower control arms from someone like say custom werx. This way they are already engineered for laying your truck out and alignment.

That is the reason that i bought upper and low control arms from art. No matter what arm i think it is gonna have to move up. I was wondering what the effects of rasing the uppers are.

there is no bag in it right now it is just the frame with the suspension on it. I had it layed out with 22's with modified stock arms and drop spindles it layed out hard, the new angle of the air ride upper arm it is almost completely 90 degrees. That is why if I raise the upper like If did with that silverado on 26's. I am trying to figure out what effects rasing the upper control arm is going to have

My buddy Del has an 02 or 03 GMC fullsize, laid out on 22" Intros, he's running the ART arms and Mcgauphy spindles... lays out no problem. If it were me I'd look into alternatives besides moving the control arm mounts. Move those upper mounts a 1/2" and you may cause even more problems with geometry. Your best bet might be to wait and buy the KUSTOMWERKS arms. They build an awesome product and you won't be disappointed! ;)mike
