i thought 98+ rangers ditched the i-beam front suspension? What on the stock suspension kept you from layin on 20s and why no jus get a camber kit to correct it if you didnt want much camber?

Camber correction kit has a minimal effect at best. I'm layin frame on 18s in my 99 Ranger and I still have crazy negative camber with the camber kit on it. I think most of the difficulties with the 98+ Ranger front suspension is caused by the upper control arms. People have done dirrefent things like moving the upper control arm mounts up higher, lengthening the upper arms, and other things. These may help the negative camber issues, but then they cause steering problems and positive camber.
Rangers are cool, but they're a real pain in the ass!

hey Pascal I think I remember your old truck from RangerPowerSports.com....did you have that smooth roll pan custom made? I think I talked to you about it a long time ago.

probobly have to move it over or up and add a knuckle on it. only way to really find out is to try and drop the motor in, see where your problem lies and go from there. I wouldn't start cutting up your firewall and moving things until you at least try it. take the steering column and linkage out completly, drop in the new motor along with your mounts etc. then try and re-install the steering. (p.s. make sure you install you hedders or manifolds on the block before installing the steering, you may end up hitting the manifolds). then, what ever correction to the sttering mounting point's or linkage you need to make you can know for sure where it needs to run, where you'll need knuckle's etc.
