Just picked up a GMC Crew Cab Dually. It's bone stock and in good shape. Paid $600 from a tow yard. 454/400 with 4.10's in rear.

For now I just want to get all the little problems sorted out. Already fixed the steering leaks, waiting for a radiator. Trans leaks when it sits for a couple days. I think the front oil seal is bad allowing the torque converter to drain to pan.

I'm not sure whether I want to drop it or raise it, or maybe just leave it stock height. I'm looking for a set of 19.5 steel direct bolt wheels for cheap. I'll be sticking to a truck tire for the durability.

Currently it's white outside and Cognac (brown/tan) inside. Not sure about the outside but the interior will be going to gray.

I'm in La Habra, CA. Right on the OC/LA border.

Thanks. If all else fails I can still scrap it for what I paid. That's why the guy I bought it from wouldn't go lower than $600, that's what the local steel recycler would give for it.

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards dropping it. If I'm going to do it, it'll be on bags though. I've got some 4x4 fab experience so I think I can fab up a decent linked rear with bags. It'll be a while though. 1 year old and 3 year old boys take up alot of time.

Well, I just picked up another today. 83 crew cab dually that was hit hard in rear.

It has Weld Wheels, 1 has rash from hitting the curb in the accident.
Good tires
Good dually fenders
All new front end updated to 91
New front fenders
Factory tach which I can't easily use...
Brand new interior in the same color as mine
It had a 134a conversion with all new parts.
All the light lenses are good, most of mine are bad.
No engine or tranny
No radiator (damn, that's the one part I need to drive mine regularly)

Frame is bent, rear leafs are bent. Salvage title, clean registration.

I'll be swapping a lot of stuff and parting then scrapping the rest. Bought it for $700.
