this is another reason why i am glad i am in canada. The only tickets i ever get are height violations, and safetly because brake lines were rubbing up against airbags. but i dont get why you have to have a bumper the only thing its really going to do is protect your frame and tailgate in an accident really.

bumpers just protect in low speed colisions. i got rear ended once and the lady was doing 35 and it tweaked the frame. if i wouldn't have had a bumper it would have just messed up the bed.

to the guy talking about roll pans being bumpers, it's true. when i fought my bumper ticket in court, the judge asked me if my roll pan was metal or fiberglass. i told him steel & he told me to put a picture in my glovebox with the install of it to show it's metal & i was good to go. he said that the fiberglass ones ARE illegal though, as they have no energy displacing qualities.

ken, back when we were in school i got pulled over for no bumper in my isuzu, one time was in the junior parking lot by that bitch female cop that always tried to stop us from leaving when we had D.O. and another time my keiths house on 48th, both times i got a warning. get a roll pan, then if a cop gives you shit about not having a bumper, tell him to get on his knees, and look under your truck (we can do what i did to pauls truck and put a bumper behind the roll pan) then he cant get you for shit, because its the same thing as his car has, a bumper cover yea i would say that if you like wearing chrome braclets

Mazda's never came with a rear bumper...It was an option. That's why there are bumper caps available for them...Have them check with the dealer or you can go straight to the dealer and they can pull the invoice from a similar year mazda

Just showing that you can prove that on alot of vehicles in the late 80's early 90's the rear bumpers were options...some fords and others were set up the same way with the bumper being an option...Check with the dealer....Also check the RCW and make sure that when you break it down word for word that it dosen't include you...

just put a roll pan on it. mainly, they dont wanna see a big open spot where the bumper used to be, who does right? do that then you'll be fine
