a roll pan is not considered a bumper in any state that i know. as for what pearldrop pulled up. there it is in hard facts it is illegal but it all depends on the cop "A" if he knows that law or "B" if he just wants to pull you over

yeah he pulled me over for 1. no bumper 2. no tag light(witch i had and was working). so i dunno if he just said it caues he is the second cop to pull me over but it wasn't just for the bumper it was for blowing a stop sign. so that is the second time i was told it was illegal but not give a ticket for it..and i was ticketed for the stopsign thing but not for the bumper.

ken, back when we were in school i got pulled over for no bumper in my isuzu, one time was in the junior parking lot by that bitch female cop that always tried to stop us from leaving when we had D.O. and another time my keiths house on 48th, both times i got a warning. get a roll pan, then if a cop gives you shit about not having a bumper, tell him to get on his knees, and look under your truck (we can do what i did to pauls truck and put a bumper behind the roll pan) then he cant get you for shit, because its the same thing as his car has, a bumper cover

i have been driving mini trucks around auburn since 91, never got pulled over for the rear bumper, but no front lisence plate has got me pulled over 10 or more times, used to get to low tickets all the time in the early 90's, I havnt been pulled over in a mini truck since 2000 and i drive one daily, I think the hondas took the heat off mini truckers, but auburn cops have always been cool to me, I do try to take one of my kids with me when i take the truck out though, I really think it helps, officer i was just draggin it for my boy

This is straight off the link to the state website... one could always use the defense that a rollpan functions as an aftermarket rear bumper upgrade... I mean, it's welded to the bed, which is bolted to the frame... at 6 points whereas the bumper is actually bolted up at 2-4 points.
