Hey All I just got pullled over on my way home here in Auburn Washington and the cop told me it was Illegal to not have bumper on the back of my truck sence it came stock with one. Now if I put a roll pan on the back of my truck will that count as a bumper or will i still get S**t from the local PD for it not being a "bumper"? thanks for the help.

I got pulled over 2 weeks ago for not having a rear bumper on my completely stock 93 mazda that came from the factory without one! i told the stater that they came for 2 years from the factory without rear bumpers... he asked why there are cutouts in the back of the bed for bumper brackets to come through, i explained it was a factory option... he told me i need a new windshield (badly cracked) . at first i could tell he wanted to write me up but i showed him whats up and he let me off and told me to have a nice evening! my friend used to get pulled over all the time for the same reason, until finally he just put on a rear bumper, although he knew that in WA there is NO law requiring a rear bumper but there is a law on front bumpers.

i think that cop wanted to just pull you over, i use to drive my 1st gen s10 around with no bumper at all and never got crap from cops, and the cops in normandy park will pull you over for anything. but like Tom said, there is no law, i see tons of people driving without one, but yes, if you put on a rollpan, that will count.

If it came with it, legally you have to keep it.

Bumpers.

so i wonder does that mean that you can't change it and put a roll pan on it.
