hey guys i'm lookin to do a mini truck over the winter and i was leaning towards doin an earier s10 because of the simplicity of in stalling an airide and the fact that it has alot of after market parts as you guys explaned to me in a previous post but i have come across a killer deal on a 92 dakota extended cab with a 318 in it. my question is are these trucks hard or expensive to bag? will after market parts be hard to find? thanks, any info will be great
Good luck... Go with the S-10 you will be happy you did...
well this is the deal my buddy owes me some money doesn't have it but is willing to give me his dakota to pay his debt. the truck is clean and runs good just need to know if and how hard it would be to bag it and so on.
i can tell you from experiance go with the s10. they don't make sh** for dakotas. the old ones aren't as bad but i belive you will still have to z the frame, i could be wrong.
Get ready to empty your wallet if you get the dakota. S-10 will be cheaper in the long run. But if you dont mind spending the money, dakotas look good laid out.
well i plan on doing the work my self so i won't be paying for labor, do you mean the components to bag a dakota is expensive?
I would say take the S-10 route... It is 100 times more simple. There is tons of parts for em and much easier to deal with. Even if the dakota was free... It would be cheaper in the long run to get the s-10!
i would worry more about what you like and what you want than how much it costs..cuz you wont be happy til u have what u want
man this really sucks, because i won't be able to aford a s10 any time soon and i really wanted to do a mini truck. i know i'm reaching here but i already have a air ride system ( tank, vavles, plumbing etc.) just need the bags cups and what ever else, how expensive is it to just bag the rear, on like 18's and be able to drag? i'm not really concerned about laying frame right now i just want to drag the shit out of something
if u do the dakota and do it right there arent many out there so u will get more eyes on your truck at shows. You can do anything to any truck its called customizing not looking through a catalogue and ordering 10 million parts that r n 10 million other so-called custom trucks. I know there will be post saying to hell with me cuz i stepped on a few toes but do u wanna stand out or be another jack in the box. Let us know what u end up doing either way... And yes u can truely customize an s-10 but u will have to do a hella lot to stand out... oh yeah im half awake lol hope this comes across good
