cookie is right and old moonshiner friend of mine told me he bought plenty stuff from airlift back in the day and put the "bags" on the rear so when they had a load of moonshine they would air it up to keep the rear end from saggin and for the ride and most importantly so the cops wouldnt notice it was loaded with moonshine. SO YES AIR LIFT HAS HELPED MOONSHINERS SO THE 50'S

My bet is he's trying to say we MAY influence the stance the now have.

I'm not sure if it's what he meant. We ALL know we didn't invent anything about lowering (we're a couple years late for that matter). But the Hotrod trucks (if I can call it that way) usually have that racked look...you know, the nose down on the pavement and the rear end like 5-6 inches in the air.

I've seen that them guys now tend to have a more "straight" look by having there rear at the same height as the front is. And even more, we see a lot more of these trucks laying frame/running board.

I don't think he meant we invented anything but only that the stance the have now seems to be more like what we have.

I hope this clears thing a bit.

I have 3 kids and 2 of them are saving up there money to build there own they are 10 and 9..I can only imagine what will be thought of and done by the time they can drive there rides. Its about keeping it going !!!

i agree with this.i have a younger sister that when she gets a vehicle, she wants a truck bagged on big wheels with a system in it,she enjoys seeing wat im doin to mine and wants the same for hers.atleast the scene is getting some of the younger kids off the streets and outa trouble..or atleast thats the way i see it.

I heard back in the day, the first adjustable air suspension was with air shocks. They used to just let the air out of the shocks to "dump" it! So I don't know if we really influenced the market at all but we are for sure helping to make it better.

Aaaaaah yes the early 90's!!!

I believe the first car with Hydraulics was a '57 Corvette called the X-Sonic. It used a hand pump originally and eventually used aircraft landing gear setup.

yeah hot rods, street rods and classic trucks definitly influenced us. We havn't influenced them. It is awesome that most minitrucks are going for the street rod look nowadays.

But you can admit that the hotrod (mostly trucks) seem to lose their "racked" look nowadays...are we wrong??

I remember when my dad had his 32 ford, it had the racked look and almost every hotrod we saw at the shows and in the magazines had that racked look. Then, since a couple of years it seems like those cars are built with a "straight" stance.

Maybe it's not us (well, probably that those guys don't want to look like us anyways) but it's a fact that Aaron put for us to look, he didn't meant we were the brain behind that...he just thought it was nice to see those vehicles sporting the same "stance" as we are.

you are correct Ron Aguirre's X sonic was the 1st car to have truely adjustable suspension. He used a hand pump (port-a-power kinda thing) to raise & lower the corvette. That was 1958. If u read the history books (http://www.lowridermagazine.com/historybook/
