When i sectioned my tank i used a gas tank restoration product to seal it. I cant remember the name of the product, but its used to seal small rust holes and will not get eaten up by gasoline.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'm gonna check out all the links you provided and give Ebay another look. It's gettin old tryin to JB Weld (and every other kwik fix) my tank. The sh*t might actually seal if I didn't dragg it everyday, but that aint gonna stop.

And with regards to Mike from BYC,
Thanks for the advice and to clear things up about this threads title, I wasnt tryin to talk sh*t about you or your shop. I just read Garrick's forum and wanted to make it clear to everyone that this aint another "bash BYC" thread. Just a minitrucker in need of some honest advice.
With that said, good look with your shop, and i'm out

We do offer to seal them for you for an extra 55.00. We use a 2 part system called KREAM its the same used for all sealing of radiators and fuel tanks. Highly recommended by all of the local radiator and diesel shop around. We use them in alot of motorcycle tanks that the customers build and send my painter for final paint. That is just options for our customers. If you have any questions there are a few people on here that have SISAC tanks and do beleive they are pretty happy with them. GOOD LUCK with your plans.

i was just wondering because ive heard of motorcycle tanks rusting out from the inside and with moisture and condensation in gas nowadays you can go wrong with spending an extra 50 on your newly built tank. What thickness of metal do you typically use in the metal tanks 18g or 16g?
