I have a 1990 Z-71, and would it be easier and better to put a solid front axle in or just lift it with its current suspension parts?

ive seen 33s with a 3" body lift and that looked decent. If i were you and i didnt want to break the bank on a straight axle swap i would go get a 3" bodylift and some 2" blocks for the rear and some coil spacers and/or lifted coils for the front and you willbe golden.

to do 35s u must do at least 6inchs of lift if you want good ground clearance and good clearnace all around u can get 6in ifs suspension parts for the those trucks easy.

lookinto a website called pavementsucks.com

I am a member on there for my fullsize and my old jeeps I used to have. To clear 35s on the box style Z's you are gonna need a minimum of 6 inches. I would personally go with a IFS setup instead of swapping a solid axle... Thats what i like about my dodge, it has a solid axle. and i cleared 35s without a lift but just put 3 inches on her friday for more clearance in the woods. But a solid axle swap is gonna cost you alot more in the long run unless you have all the right tools and know how to do it right the first time.. You can get a good Rancho or ProComp 6 inch kit for less than $1500... Go to 4wheelparts.com to look into lift kits...
