A lot of times you get a friend to help that doesn't know how to change a tire, ya know?
Then I can also see where hes coming from with "the user" style guys. Wanting something for nothing. But not telling people you talents in fear of that, seems a little paranoid or whatever.
I really think the crazy shit is starting to sorta dwindle down to the level it needs to be. Scrapin got crazy but it didn't seem like people were being retarded, just having a blast watchin trucks drag and shit.
I think everyone sorta realized it got far too much like a frat party with nice rides instead of nice rides and a party to celebrate the scene. I think the scene is getting back to what you older guys want it to be.
We need to get some more old school rides in here though, those things are killer, and always sets off another aspect of the scene at shows. I love seeing these big bearded rod guys starin inside a new mini or fullsize just droolin over the work done.
Thats why this year at Southeast Showdown we added a rods and choppers section of the show with there own trophies and parking area. it seemed to be a big hit especially when greg and toby porter did dualing donuts in the plymouth and there silver truck. Look for more traditional rods at the show next year

I think all true car guys are like me, they want, ALL OF THEM!!! lol. I want my mini done, and a 59' caddy, and a 34' model A sedan, and a lifted 04' f250, and a 64 1/2 mustang, and a 59 impala, and a 60's dodge logging truck, i mean hell the list goes on and on. My wish list is way out there, and i will make my way around the bend at some point. But it won't be because of boyd/foose, or commercials, or feature trends, or sema, it will be because that's what i want. Fuck everyone else.
there's no such thing as a '34 model A.
They were Model B's.
yea, well that post was after my fourth tall cpt n coke, so i'm shocked i spelled half of it correct, let alone rattled off the correct model, none the less you got the point of the post.

I have always liked almost every kind of custom car/truck, but lately been more interested in late 50s/early 60s cars. I've driven minitrucks since 89, but my next custom project will probably be something old. my dad grew up with some sweet cars, but didn't have any of those once I came along. I also think there is just a lot more style in the older cars/trucks than what's available today. besides a minitruck wont hold a family of 4 very well unlike some old 2 or 4 door cars will.
on another note, are there any good sites/forums for old cars or any for just old wagons? there's some old stuff on here, but I'd love to see/read more
