I agree with trend as mentioned. I have been ol skool from day one. For most its just whats hot right now so they have one. If you will notice,, these guys usually buy or build and sell in a short time. Ive been on air for 6 years in my car and drive it where ever I want.. Ol Skool to me is not a trend for me just an addiction I have to TRUE engineering and hard work.

yes the cars have good lines and are cool but there still all rusted piles. unless your in SO CAL or AZ/NV area. dont forget the 30+ years of hacker body work done to them.

im gonna just try and call it the way i see it..and hope i dont pi$$ anyone off...i think some people just like the old style, the lines of older cars and want to just build an older style by choice, then you have the person that is a finacial freak, always wrapped up in the all-mighty dollar and rather have an investment because they sell there soul to the dollar and not to the truck, then you have the other people who just jump on the bandwagon and wanna be the next boyd coddington or chip foose! at least thats the way i see it! but hopefully more people do it because they like the cars, the lines, and the style! but to each their own. i just love the scene, no matter what it is!!

I've always liked older cars more. I ended up with my truck by mistake, and then decided to make it a cheap project so I had a beater to drive around while I build my 54. Now, a year later, I'm balls deep in a worthless truck and my 54 is still sitting.

So very true. I agree with you 100%. If you seriously want to know though, I jumped on the bagged truck bandwagon. I've said this several times. When I bought my truck (originally), I have plans on making it into a 10 second truck. I had no desire for 22s or air bags. But I got talked into it. Before buying my truck I had the opportunity to pick up a nova without engine for under $500 but never did. Classic cars or trucks to me just look a whole lot better than anything GM or anybody else could put out. Maybe it's just the muscle look that I like so much.

I like at the points made. Though, the insurance thing is not true. If you have a restored classic and have "classic car" insurance, it is very expensive. I build a truck I LIKE, and hope other will like it too. Yes, if someone offers me the right amount of money for my 63 C10, I would sell it without thinking twice. I dont get emotionally attached, why???? Everything is for sale in life, EVERYTHING! If someone offers you a ridiculous amount of money for your Grandpa's "hand me down" and "restored" classic, you would sell it. No one here is rich, and everyone could use the extra money. I dont want to be a Boyd or Foose, but I would like to be known as a guy who builds a clean, reliable ride. I am glad so many people are responding, this is a great topic.

sorry mark, the insurance is ABSOLUTELY true, no deductible, and stated values of 18k and 7k on my mustang and my jeep, $190 per YEAR for both. Hagerty insurance and there's a couple other good companies to deal with out there too. It's a no brainer compared with the monthy bill I get for my driver late model shit.

oh yeah i forgot, the value is determand by supply and demand, there is not many around anymore plus the demand is due to that everyone likes them. Just think about all those toys at christmass. 400 dollor toys going for thousands just because everyone wants one. so thats why i think that the old rides have never been unpopular. now we see more of them bagged and what not because of the trend that is riseing up. think back to the gaser rides and such. my dad gave me hell about lowering a ride, but when he was my age he lifted the back for about the same reason. that and he said it made it hook up beter on the street. kinda strange now i think about it he dont like my slow ride but hes all about the ford as figured. but he was so interested in my honda cause its all about speed lol.
