It seems like the emphasis has moved towards classic restoration and customization. Why do you think that is? I like my 63 C10 because of the "clean lines" the way the cab leans forward, and it is all metal. I think there is more of a return on the money for the classics too. I built a 2002 GMC 1500 and obviously never got close to what I had into it when I sold it. What are your thoughts????????

cheaper to buy (depending on what u get) than a newer truck, although u will spend probably more on fixing stuff.. 2 when u sell em u have a greater chance of selling it, they appeal to more people (esp the ones with all the money)

Real metal to weld to LOL
I am not building mine for investment. I do like the lines of some of the old vehicles.
To each their own and maybe people want to be part of something different and change from newer to old. I know I have a old Datsun or Toyota on my list of things to do.
P.S. I love the truck and cannot wait to see it, let me know when you taking it out.

Personally, I like the cheap insurance on old cars... can't afford to insure many late model vehicles.

I think the media has played a big part in making custom more appealing to the masses.there has always been lots of old cars but now people are not so scared of custom.I can remember when shaved handles ruined the value of a classic but now a bodydropped oldschool will bring top dollar. They have been around forever but like me you never payed attention because they were not custom.

^^^ I'm pretty sure you didn't mean that the way I read it... But they were definitely "custom" back in the day. 99% of what is done to late model cars originated from old customs.

cause a minitruck is always just a minitruck, it stops at a certain point.

I'm lookin for a classic b/c of the return on investment..I dont build rides for the money..but paying 10 grand for a truck, investing 10 grand, and then its only worth 9 grand isnt smart..buy a classic for 1000, invest 10 grand..sell for 11..at least your breaking even..
