o.k. the truck i have right now, i bought it from someone else for one simple reason.... it was already bagged. I got there to take a look at the truck and not only was it bagged but had all the 4wd sheetmetal, shaved corners and handles, c notched, fuel cell and it lays frame. So hell i bought it. But now i have to do the interior and stereo, paint it, and buy some new wheels. I will always give Mike credit for all the stuff he has done. I have had several trucks and cars but always wanted something bagged and this truck was just cheaper than me having one bagged. Here is my gripe... what is the difference in me buying this truck and someone taking there truck to a shop to have the work done?

I definitally bought my truck it was for the right price.. and not one time have I EVER taken credit for other peoples hard work that went into it.. matter of fact ive kind of trashed it but Im gonna repaint and ill take credit for that. oh ya can some people tag my shit or something lookin kinda bland..

well i guess if i knew who acually built the truck they could get the credit they deserve. robert told me someone in miami bodydropped the truck. so for all who had a hand in that truck you can thank him for that

oh yeah i never took credit for shit about this truck except for the things that i added.

Well, to each's own... Different strokes for different folks. I have never purchased a fulld done ride, but if I do that is my perogative and when someone wants to throw some cash my way, then and only then can they tell me how to build anything! Just my 2 cents...

I've skipped around this thread and read a few here and there so forgive me if I repost someone else's thought.

My truck is being built by a top notch shop and I hope to have it on a cover someday. I do not have the talent, tools, etc to do everything myself.

If you're going to quote "built not bought" can you please explain it to me? Does it mean "you shouldn't buy an already built ride", or "you shouldn't hire someone else to do the work"?

All I have to say is, NO ONE will ever do ALL of their own work!!! No matter what the build is, no matter who the person is, It just won't happen.

How many times have you seen Chip Foose bring in a specialist to help on a job (not talking about overhaulin') How many times have you seen Boyd take something to (sp) Marcel's to have some custom body work done?How many people actually chrome parts themself.... etc etc. There are somethings that need to be done by other people to get the job done right.

If you're going to quote "built not bought" shouldn't you build a one-off ride from scratch? Start with metal, shape it, cut it, and machine all your own parts and create your own fluids?

Sounds kinda dumb to modify and rebuild an already existing vehicle when you can build one from scratch...

maybe we are not born into the money , talent, friends to teach us, or have the tools. who cares. i respect the fact that they like the sport, and want to have fun. as long as they dont clain all the credit then get over it. i guess once we all finish our trucks we should just send them to the scrap pile since no one is allowed to buy them without this kind of closed minded hassle.
all im saying is that we are all not lucky enough to have the dad to teach us, the friends to take us in, the garage space, the tools, or plain know how to do it, and to do IT RIGHT. if all these kids did thier own work then the same people would get on here and bash them for how shity, or unsafe they work.

hmmm i think they mean well but i have never seen them drag their own trucks and the worst one "drag that shit" because im gonna drag my 7g paint job to make you smille

i bought a truck already done,the truck on the cover this month of streetsource and it was a peice of shit,ive had to rewire so much on it it feels like i have built it,why did i buy one already done,so i wouldnt wait to build one,i could stay in the scene after my accord got totaled,maybe im just not capable of it,why dont you post up some pics of what youve built yourself since you hate on people buying things?
