Need axles cut & resplined

Does anyone have the hookup for cutting and resplining axles? I need a pair of GM 10-bolt (astro) axles cut 3" per side and I'm having a hard time finding a place that will do it at a reasonable price. Most places want so much that the difference between cutting and resplining and new axles is negligable. I don't want to spend $450 on a pair of custom axles if I can avoid it.

My backup plan is using a caprice rear (also a 10-bolt w 5" bolt pattern) and narrowing just one side 2" to offset the diff center like the astro rear and end up with a 6" narrower rear than a stock astro rear. But in this case I will still need one axle cut and splined.

Can anyone help?

ive used moser before, fast turnaround, new axles usually run 200-400 bucks.
