just color matched some parts on my bed because i wet sanded through the new paint. i used paint from a different mix but it was still the same hot hues lemon drop. now i looked closely at it and its a lighter shade of yellow. is it the mixers fault or mine? what did i do wrong?

did you blend the base? meaning you just spray base lightly over the section that you broke through..then clear the entire thing

there are alot of things that can affect a color match...the mix being one of them..hell u can paint one thing..and then use the same paint out of the same can to paint something else..and it can come out different....air pressure...distance..sealer color..lots of stuff can affect it..it should have been noticable before you cleared it tho

i wasnt even paying attention to it thinking that it should definitely match. i just sanded into the sealer and not any further and i used the same preesure. sucks because this paints 150 a quart. taking this new quart with an old one to the supply store so they can check it out.

paint turned out to be mixed wrong. they did me a "favor" and mixed a second quart for me. didn't even hook me up on the clear and not even an apology. just cause im a kid and not a body shop. a$$holes
