I was lookin at the mazda trucks forum the other day, and noticed someone was trying to get 200 h.p. out of a mazda. Well i gotta 2.3 ranger and i was wondering if u guys had any tips on how to get around 200horse out of it. theres just one thing i dont wanna go broke over it. im on a pretty tight budget but i wanna do whatever i can to my truck. Thanks
for the money, you could put in a carbed 302 and get easily 200hp. i know everyone wants to keep thier 4 banger, but honestly, just putting in a v-8 with a small carb will get you power and keep decent gas mileage.
man find a wrecked for thunderbird turbo coupe, they have the 2.3 turbo intercooled motor, get turbo kit, injectors and ecu and you can gain about 230 hp,or switch the entire motor out
yea i am going to turbo my 2.3 splash eventually. There is a guy in my town that builds a turbo ranger like every month and he gave me this piece of advice. If your going to turbo, find a turbocoupe, svo mustang, and some escorts were turbos. if you find one rebuild and implant the entire motor, trans, and ecu because if you just slap a turbo on your stock pistons and plane jane 2.3 you WILL blow some shit up.
stock 4.0 rangers have 207.. ha had one for a while.. kinda peppy
POWER RANGERS MT cover trucks
if you have an OBDII truck, add turbo pistons, a tune and the turbo setup, id say that would net 200 hp easily. there the easiest to turbo since you can get a tuner or have it tuned. cant do that with obd1. or swap to a 4.0.
