what cars did the weber come one that we can use on our trucks. I heard it was volvos but i would like the years and model of the cars so i am not running in the dark when i go to look for one in the junkyard. where is a good place to get the linkage and adapters to bolt it onto the mazda b2200? i know ill have to get it rebuilt and rejetted for the truck but it should still be cheaper then a new carb.
PINTOOOOOOO
just go to the parts store and ask for a new pinto carb, depending on your altitude it will already be jetted kind of close, and weber adapters bolt right up. Bout 200 bucks for the pinto holley... You will need to fab the linkage though, but K6 has a whole Holley carb section on his website mazdatruckin.com.
My nephew has a rochester 2bbl on his mazda, same deal. The holley and rochester carbs are direct copies of the weber DFEV, you can find them on old stovebolt 6 pots, those will definitely need rejetted though.

They were also on Cougars and Renaults along with quite a few other "stovebolt 6 pots" like Russ said. Also I know I've seen them on BMers and VWs but not sure if they came stock on those ever. I got one off a Pinto and it had a big aluminum air cleaner. Looks like it would look really nice under my hood if I polish it; might wanna keep that in mind cuz the "new" webers have a different top end design, and the "new" rectangular small air cleaners don't fit on the old Webers.
actually the best one to get it from is a late 70 Mustang II (I think 76-79) these are 2.3l 4 cylinder cars and would require very little to no modification to the jets I know several people who have done this conversion sucessfully you will need the weber adapter plates regardless of which car you get the carb from and also they were licensed as the Holley 5200 in the US

the late 70's mustang II and the late 70's Pinto used the same engine, same carb, everything. Just FYI.
And Tom, the BMW and VW used solex, not the same. You could have seen some with Webers, but those were upgrades. Best thing you could do to a BMW 2002 (the car, not the year)
