so here's the deal. friend of mine has a 98 s10, with a 4.3, 5 speed tranny. he told me that when the truck is stopped, it wont go into any gear. however, if the truck is rolling, it will go into gear. does this sound like the clutch is friend or might it be the synchronizers in the tranny itself... thanks alot guys!
if it grinds when he tries to put it in gear while the truck is not moving then the clutch is not disengaging (not a bad clutch if he can drive & shift)
so if he can still drive and shift then what could it be if its not the clutch? just tryin to find out because im probably gonna trade my ranger for it, and i wanna know whats up with the tranny and what its gonna cost to get it taken care of.

i dont know alot about chevy but since its a 98 it probably has a hydrolic clutch if so it might need to be bled or the master cylinder or slave cylinder are bad.it might just be low on fluid.
