Engine Wiring Stumped

Ok guys after 1yr and 1/2 i finally got it all together, now the truck wont turn over,like thiers no power. but the battery is new..
my question is, the wiring harness that goes to the rear towards the gas tank,by the drivers side to the passanger side corner threw the wall, thier is a plug and thier is 2 red wires that run threw thier, what eaxctly are the two red wires without a plug?? thats all that runs in the harness..??

I cant get a bead on where you are talking, do you mean the harness that runs out the back passenger side of the cab?
If so, nothing there will keep you from starting unless you have an electric fuel pump. That is taillight, gas tank sender and electric fuel pump wiring, on newer ones there is ABS speed sensor wires there too.
For your no start, be sure you grounded the motor, be sure the ground cable from the battery is attched to the body and the frame, and be sure you have the starter wired correctly, there should be the main battery lead and a smaller lead from the ignition switch. Get a remote starter button from the auto parts store (or borrow one, you only need it for a second) and jump the two wires on the starter, then push the button and see if the motor spins. Some people do this with a screwdriver lol (short the two terminals together), but I dont recommend it.
Also, the most overlooked is the clutch safety switch, look on the clutch pedal assy and make sure the two wire plug is connected, or you will never get a starter signal.

I cant get a bead on where you are talking, do you mean the harness that runs out the back passenger side of the cab?

Hey russ thanks for responding and all your expertise is apperticated,it's been almost 2 yrs i havent started thats how long it sat gettin the bd done.
yes that the wire harness i am talking about. i looked into and your right.
now that thats not the problem. here is what happening. i put the terminals on the battery and thiers power, right when i insert the key it clikcs ok good, then i turn it on and no power, but i did notice the main BLK/YELOW thicker wire is gettin xtremely hot, and it smokes until i take the battery off. so i am wondering why it smokes, a short cut?
by the way it is an automatic tranny no clutch stuff thier.

Yep you have a good sized short if your battery terminal is heating up. Make sure the starter isnt bad, disconnect the cable from it and see if the wire still heats up. Thats really the only thing that can draw that much current and isnt protected by a fuse...
You can trace it down from the battery to the starter too.

Ok man so heres the deal brother.. so i bypassed the switch and jumped it at the starter and it cranked over the fan turned and it sounded. now so this means thiers something wrong with the switch? ignition switch?

oh man russ. brother i think the short is worst then i thought. looks like the ignition is not gettin power at all from the white/red wire. i cut all the tape of the harness to look for the short. man what a nightmare i have now of wires .. .
russ tell me what would be the most easiest way to fix this whole mess at once??
should i get a weber and elimante the computer and all the other bullshit wires?
and get a painless wiring kit?? or what do u suggest man, thanks bro i am buggin out on this truck abut to burn it!! ugh..
