Suicide Hood

I have a bagged 99 mazda and I am looking to suicide the hood, has anyone has good fortune with a particular product? What troubles could I run into? Any thing will help

most ppl use a hinge setup from a late 80s early 90s buick. not sure which model. its a smaller car...century, skylark...some shit like that.

it will use your factory latching system. the only modification youll need to do is fab up a track for the rear of the hood to go into. that track will keep the rear of the hood from being floppy.

mounting the hinges is farily straight forward. however, you may need to narrow or widen the hinges to fit your hood

i thought the hinges people used were from a chrysler LeBaron

yeah the buick and oldsmobile are the cheapest and probably easiest.

you could also look into the vettes, jags,etc.

Devin What year car? What all mods did u have to do to install the hinges? what did u have to do with the rear of the hood for support?

saab hinges might work too

1985 to like 1990 Buick park ave is what I used. Take the tracks off when you get the hinge. leave the springs on and it will work better too.
