I hear you say you are certain, I'm just having a hard time believing.. Mini's are unibody and there is no reason to swap over a frame and rwd chassis to a front engine, fornt wheel drive unibody.
The datsun from the early 60's looks really similar thoughm and is rwd with a frame.
Believe it or not, the Datsun is almost twice as big as that mini cooper. You just cant get a feel for how small they are till you see one up close.
