CAN SOMEBODY TELL ME HOW THEY GOT THE CRANK SHAFT PULLEY OFF THE CRANKSHAFT
there are 6 10mm bolts around the main crank bolt. take those off, and the crank pulley just falls off.
the pulley will come right off with a few bolts, but you will need a wheel/balancer puller to get the harmonic balancer off once you take the big bolt out the center.
what year and model mazda? the 86-93 B2000/B2200 dont have a harmonic balancer, but the later ranger/mazdas with the ford engines do. I guess I just assumed 86-93....
If its a 86-93, are you replacing your timing belt? Removing the 6 bolts will allow you access.
Or is your crank pulley wobbly all the sudden? Because thats both common and very very bad.
RUSS IS GOD, sorry just had to say it.
The crank pully which runs the accessories has a harmonic balancer built into it. It removes with the six 10 mm bolts. Once these are removed it should come off fairly easily.
The Big bolt in the center ONLY needs to be removed if you need to take the lower timing gear off for the timing belt.
The harmonic balancer bolts to the lower timing gear with the 6 bolts.
All vehicles have some sort of harmonic balancer unless the engines are internally balanced which in todays age is usually only racing engines and most of them still use a harmonic balancer for safe measure.

the mazda uses a heavy crank pulley as a vibration damper. A harmonic balancer by definition is a vibration damper, but a vibration damper is not necessarily a harmonic balancer. Semantics, I know.
Whats missing from the mazda pulley to make it harmonic balancer is the rubber between the inner and outer steels. Instead, its just heavy, more of a resonance lowering device than any kind of dynamic balancer, like the harmonic balancer name would imply.
Potato, potatto.
MY BAD ABOUT MY LAST POST WHAT I NEED TO NO IS HOW DO I GET THAT SPROCKET THAT BEHIND THAT PULLEY I THINK THAY CALL IT A LOWER TIMING SPROCKET I WAS WONDERING DO YOU USE A STEERING WHEEL PULLER TO GET OFF SO I CAN TAKE IT TO GET TESTED
you dont need a puller, you just need a big ass breaker bar on the crank nut. Put the truck in gear. There isnt much testing you can do to the lower timing pulley though.
And I can tell you in advance, if you are having trouble with timing and you suspect the lower timing pulley on the timing belt, you will not like what it is. The keyway on the crank nose has a tendency to break, causing the lower pully to wobble/spin and the engine to lose time. Very common, and the only fix is a new/used crank.
