If you was running a bigger wheel and tire diameter over stock (plus 1,or 2 sizes)Whould you get better gas milage or worst??Ive asked a bunch of people and they said it would help it,some said it would hurt it.whats your view on thisNOTE:Iam not talking radicle sizes like supper swamppers,or 24,26's.

really depends on the dia. of ur stock wheels ntires i guess. i still get 27mpg in my ranger w/ the 20s on the back...

i think alot of that would also depend on how heavy the stock is Vs aftermarket wheel is. because i know my 20's are 75lbs a piece

it al depends on the wieght. Any time you get aftermarket wheels and tires, you wanna try and keep the same overall diamter to keep your speedo right. As for miledge it's gonna drop if you go bigger, but not enough to really make a big difference... but the weight of a 20 and tire compared to a 14 or 15 is gonna make the biggest difference...., but still its not gonna be enough to notice it...

i know you arent talking about huge wheels, but my 24s murdered the gas mileage on my chevy. they are 90 pounds a pop. it's definitely all about how heavy your new wheels are.

weight plays an issue.. but larger diameter will net you higher MPG on the highway, because the larger diameter drops your engine RPM's down. This hurts your city mileage because of the extra weight, and circumference that the engine has to pull.

Atlest this is true when i went from 29's to 32's with my ranger. (and yes i regeared my speedo so it was perfect, which is why my numbers are valid...)

lower rpm's most of the time result in better mpg on the highway. So if you go bigger you will get a little better but like someone said in the city it will hurt because of the weight you have to get the momentum to turn em.
