It seems like my Wagon is taking forever and the progress never amounts to enough to even talk about. I guess I'm in a slump and loosing motivation. What do you guys do in this situation? I know some people get tired and try and sell their ride but thats not an option. One, because I wanna be the only one with this car and two, because no one would buy it in the condition its in. I just need some inspiration I guess. Its taken 10 months and 3 attempts to get my wheels made so thats been a drag. Along with relocating my shop and the downtime involved in that, I just feel like all the work I put into it amounts to minimal progress. Now I understand that everything for the car has to be custom built by me or someone and that takes time but this project is taking forever.Anybody have suggestions or in the same boat?

Streetrucks had a good editorial about this a while back....Walk away from it. Do not think about working on it, do something else, catch up with friends, spend more time on some of your other interest...etc. If it feels like work, instead of something you enjoy, you will never get anything done.

Basically, take a vacation from it, set a date, and do not work on it until then.

Trust me, I enjoy every minute I work on the wagon. I have just had too much down time not working on it and its frustrating. I had eye surgery a week ago b/c of a metal fragment in my eye. The week before that I moved my shop to a different location. My new shop gives me some motivation but also motivates me to just hang out and drink. Reason being that the guys next door to my shop own a drag boat racing team and the seasons over so they just hang out and drink. But I think now that its cooling off I'll be working on it a little more and hopefully will see progress soon. I just want to finish the BodyDrop...yeah, I said bodydrop, and the rear setup by thanksgiving or sometime close to that. And if anybody in the DFW area has pointers or wants to help out gimme a shout. I'm in Lewisville and always down to hang out with new people.

come by BYC and drink a cold one. a cold DP that is. anyway we are always building something new and always looking for opinions on our parts.
not much show scene left in DFW anymore. just the old minitruckers and all the new ricers. the street rod guys like us better at least...

I pulled my car in the shop in February to fix 2 small dents in the fender, and a dent in the quarter. I fixed the dents then decided I wanted to shave the moldings, tail lights, door handles, antena, and everything. I only had that car to drive so my boss lent me his truck figureing I would be driving it for a month tops, its now October, my car is still at the shop in prime. The moldings are shaved, tail lights are shaved, inner trunk jamb is fully smoothed, gas jamb is smoothed, huge rag top is installed, the hood is shaved, and its still not done. I actually bought a beater at the begining of the month and I have been driving that around while I work on my car. I only have 1 night a week were I dont have work or school and guess what I do on that night...work on my car. Saturday I work all day, and then Sunday is my day off. I usually go into work early and work on my car then spend the rest of the day with my dogs, or friends....I feel your paint bro, but just stick with it and know that when its done it will be one bad mumbojumbo.
