North Carolina Laws

Anyone know what the laws are on tags as far as if they can be in the back window. Im looking at getting a Lexan window just wondering if it was behind the driver and was lighted if it would be legal. Its not blocking any of my view and its lighted and visible. Anyone know what the law says on this i couldnt find anything about this. Thanks for any info.

best bet is to go tyour local police station and speak w an officer, he can tell you if it's legal or not. highway patrol can tell you as well.

as far as i know its legal, i know a couple of people with there tags in the windows. just make sure you have a light , which you already said you did. should be good to go

TAGS HAVE TO BE ON THE FURTHEST MOUNTING POINT OF THE VEHICLE.

THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU HAVE A LICENCE PLATE MOUNTED ON THE BACK OF THE WINDOW OR ON THE INSIDE OF THE BED NEAR THE CAB, "IT IS ILLEGAL"

BUT MOST COPS WONT F-WITH YOU IF YOU HAVE THE TAG IN "VIEWABLE AREAS" SUCH AS IN THE WINDOW ON THE BACK OF THE TRUCK WHERE IT BELONGS.

I KNOW, IM BECOMING A SHERIFF SO I HAVE TO STUDDY THIS CRAP. AS A SHERIFF IN SAC COUNTY, I WONT PULL OVER SOME ONE FOR SOME THING THAT I DO MY SELF.

well i didnt think they would say much just thought whenever i go to get inspected they might say something. Right now my tag is in my window inside the cab which is not legal at all. but when i shaved my tailgate i did not want a tag so i have yet to put it some where. I guess i will order a lexan window from FBI with a lighted frame. Thanks for all the info.

im running a lexan window right now and i got stopped at a road block in greenville and the cop was looking all underneath my truck for for my tag lmao then one asked me to hit my switches i dont think they cared about the plate in the window at all
