Droping a 71 Datsun 521
How hard is it going tobe to lay this thing out. I bought itfrom a guy down the street yesterday but havn't really got to look at it. It has a bad engine, he says it a piston. Is it a waste of money to rebuild, or should i just replace?
just replace, the motor only has like 75hp, might want to think about putting diff. motor if you can afford it. get a motor and trans out of a 240sx, take a little fab work but very duable.

I have a '72 Courier 3/8" FB setup and 6" BD, not sure if yours is the same front end or not, mine was a-arm/coil. If it is, hit me up I'll be glad to help. As for the engine, a rebuild kit would only run a few hundred bucks and would be well worth it.
That things bad!!! I'm not sure if it's a-arms or not. I think I read somewhere that it has torsion bars. BUt ot sure.

I LOVE that courier! Oh, umm... its not an A Arm & coil setup, its a kingpin & torsion bar setup. Not too hard to lay out depending on wheel/tire combo you're gonna go with. To swap in a KA24 engine get ready to cut, alot. It will fit though. Or you could find an L20B engine & swap the oil pan & pickup off the L16 thats in it now. That will bolt right up. The L16 has 96HP in stock form, & the L20B has like 115 or something. Hit me back with what ya wanna do & I'll help ya as much as poss. w/info. A good source for datsun info. is nwde.org, there is a forum there, these guys know there stuff.
i have 2 couriers in my back yard to get rid of, COME AND GET THEM , I WANT THEM GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey chubs. What partsam I gona need to lay it on some 17's or 18's. How much do you think it will be o rebuild that stock engine
