shocks with cylinders

just wondering if anyone has mounted shocks along with their cylinders, and if they help damp'n the ride at all. mine ride pretty smooth but if i could ride even lower and smoother i'd be an even happier man.

i have thought about it and wondered how and if it could be done

had em when i was on cans, kept them when i went to bags.

what kind of shocks were they?
