on my first gen s10, there is a keeper on the cranks. if you have needle nose pliers with the ends that fork upward those are what i would use.

So do i have to take off the door panel or just put 2-screw flat screw drivers behind the window crank and pry the crank off?

no special tool needed except a shop rag. find where the open par of the clip is and put teh rag in on theat end and pull up in a back and forth motion and they pop out every time

WELL I FOUND THAT THERE IS A PIN THAT REQUIRES A TOOL WITH A CROOKED SPIKE THAT IS NEEDED TO TAKE OFF THESE STUPID ASS WINDOW CRANKS.

there is a special tool that makes it easier, but it is not required. just get behind there with a flat head and pop the bitch off.

Just buy the window crank puller. It is only like a dollar, and makes it much easier. Oh, when you go to put it back on, you can just put the c clip in the window crank handle, and it will snap right back on the crank stud thing. I learned that after trying to put the crank handle on, and get the c clip in afterward.
