Hi. I just got my engine back in after a new crank, bearings, and head. Now that it's back in and runs, my oil pressure light is on. I pulled the o/p switch and turned the engine over. Pumped oil out. Also tried a new switch. Still have a light. What now? Is there another way to check if I actually do have oil pressure? Thanks.

you can get a pressure sender designed for a gauge instead of a dummy light and hook a gauge up to that to see exactly what pressure your running... i don't know what the minimum that the dummy light needs to go off is, but I like knowing the actual pressure...

I wondered where he went. He hasn't posted on my forum in a while. Did anyone check the bearing clearances before it was assembled?

The activation pressure for the switch is 3.6 psi. At idle it should have between 21-36 psi and at 3,000 rpm it should be between 43-57 psi.

The truck shouldn't be ran until the problem is found with the exception of hooking up a manual oil pressure gauge and starting it for a few seconds to see what the actual pressure is.

Bearings = oil pressure... get an oil pressure reading.
