GOT A NEW TRUCK & SOME ?'s

I JUST PICKED UP A 1993 2WD MAZDA B2200 X-CAB SE-5 FOR $120.00! I BOUGHT IT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER WITH A BAD ENGINE (CRANKSHAFT). IT HAS 120,000 MILES ON IT AND THE BODY, INTERIOR, AND PAINT ARE FLAWLESS, EXCEPT FOR THE SCRATCHES ON THE TAILGATE FROM LOADING IT ON THE TRAILER. IT IS A 4-CYLINDER MANUAL TRANNY. I WAS GOINT TO REPLACE THE 4 CYLINDER WITH A V-8, BUT WITH GAS BEING SOO HIGH, I'M REPLACING IT WITH A LOWER MILEAGE 4-CYLINDER.

?'s:1) WHICH VEHICLES CAN I USE AS A DONOR (DIRECT SWAP W/NO MODIFICATION)?

2) WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE RANGER HEADLIGHT SWAP & WHAT YEAR HEADLIGHTS WORK?

3) WHAT IS THE EASIEST WAY TO LOWER IT 2"/3" OR 3"/4" AND NOT SACRIFICE THE RIDE?

4) I WANT TO KEEP THE FACTORY ROLL PAN, AND WAS WONDERING WHAT TO DO WITH THE BUMPER HOLES, BESIDES DUAL EXHAUST.

THIS IS MY FIRST MAZDA, SO IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS/TRICKS/ADVICE, PASS IT MY WAY.

THANKS, -III

1.) 1986-1993 are the same
2.) not very much, '00+ i believe
3.) EASIEST is turning the bolt on the torsion bars and pulling the bump stops. BEST is to use either lowered control arm or spindle (depends on how cheap you really want to go) tweak the torsion and get lowered shocks you should be okay
4.) The holes in the pan can either be shaved, or use a factory mazda um, I am not sure what they call it, but its a "plug" that fills the holes........
5.)CHECK ALL THE PROFILES FOR MAZDA B2000,B2200 AND B2600 TO GET IDEAS!! LATER

1 yes 86-93 b2200 & b2000 motors will bolt in a probe turbo motor and others will bolt in with a little modification(you better know what your doing if you do any kind of motor swap other than stock. motor swapping sounds easier than it really is)2. don't know about the ranger lights I have seen them on mazdas and they look nice.3. for a mild 2/3 3/4 drop this is sooooo easy on a mazda for the front just loosen your torsion bars(you just loosen one bolt right behind the doors on each side, yes you will have to get on the ground to see it ) then for the rear for a 3 drop take out a leaf and use a 1-2" block for a 4" drop use a 2-3" block and remove 1 leaf remove bump stops as nessary. it will ride real nice almost as good as stock and all it will cost you is like $10-$20 which is nice4.Mazda actually made what they call bumper delete plugs you can get a pair for like $20 from the dealer or you can get some metal and shave them.

Also don't try to race these trucks lol it won't happen and you will kill your truck it comes stock with 86hp even if you put a grand or so in the few aftermarket parts that they sell(weber 32/36 progressive carb, cam, header Pacesetter or Headman)you will still only be pushing something like 115hp less than a stock civic! They are very dependable I have one that has over 300,000 miles! good luck with it but if you really want power you should look into a motor swap of some sort I would suggest the probe turbo it has something like 140hp stock and the potential for a lot more plus its built on the F2 block just like the B2200 motor and yes it is possible to use the turbo parts off one to turbo your truck but I would ONLY do this if it is Fuel Injected otherwise you would be better off just to swap out the whole thing.GOOD LUCK and have fun
