700r4 and transfercase

Heyputting a 700r4 into my mazda except it is outta a 4x4. So I heard to get rid of the transfercase I pretty much have to take apart the whole tranny to make it 2wd anyhelp or knowledge would be good ThanksJamie

just the tailshaft not the whole tranny
