When you say you set it equal but opposite does that mean if the pinion at the tranny is +2 you would set it -2 at the carrier bearing and then +2 at the rearend?
I always make the rear end angle the opposite of the trans, and shim the carrier bearing to make the driveshaft straight at ride height. Always works good.
set the rear end opposite of the carrier the carrier bearing should be pretty much straigt with the tranny
if the trans for instance is 2 degrees just above complete level, the rear end would be 2 degrees just below level, or visa versa.
Race Car stuff sets at 3 degrees down .
