people measure in the way it satisfy them. like when u measure yer wee wee. u push in the ruler or tape measure as far down as possible so it makes u believe its longer. kinda like they do measuring the roof line. go as low as they can to make them have better results to make em feel better.

Its so weird how all these 89-95 toyotas come different shapes from the factory cause none of their measurements make sense to me. now when i measure my roof height i measure from the ground to the tallest part of the truck, am i not doing this right because with doors laying flat unable to open without using some effort to drag them across the ground and using a level my truck sits at exactly 45.5 tall, now i know this because i have measured it more times than you know hoping it would shrink but to my bad luck, it never did. and another thing, my tires hit the top of my fenders, matts tires of the same size hit the top of his fenders, but his is 2.25 inches lower than mine. again this boggles my mind as to why the good people at toyota would take the time to put out trucks that had different body measurements but were carefully constructed to look the same to the untrained naked eye.
and to the guy who chimed in about anyone can hack a truck to be the lowest blablabla, the topic is not about that, thats a given, its about the lowest out there.
to anyone i have offended im sorry for i am in a bad mood due to a drunken wrestling match injury. i dont think backs are suppost to bend that way.
i measured from the center of the roof, actually against the back wall to the crown of the roof when i cut the unibody off, 42 1/4 is right on the fuckin nose, i guess when IF chopped it they got a lil more than 3, actually 3 1/4 inches to be exact.
mines 43" from ground to top of roof, no chop yet, stock heat, and i have enough room to sit comfortably. pics in profile, new pics comming soon.
If I remember this truck has a roof at 45 in. tall and it's fully done. So I guess some super low trucks can be clean too.
actually i cant remember what the pup measures exactly but it is lower than 45 it is my boys truck
ok, so we are defining what point to measure. well it would be nice if everyone actually measured to the same place but lets say someone goes and does a b/d on some truck with a short roof, then chops the top. it might end up to be 40 inches.(hyothetically) then someone else doors a truck but it has a tall roof on it and doesnt do a top chop. he might end up with a roof line of 41 inches. now if you put the two trucks side by side and the fender and bed heights of the truck thats doored will be lower than the truck with the chopped top. but does that make him the chop top truck lower than the truck thats doored ?
there is no truly acurate way to measure for the lowest trucks. you might can measure among toyotas, or isuzus or nissans, but there is no two points the same on any two different manufacturers trucks to measure from. only way i can see to do it is park them side by side on a flat spot and let the eyes be the judge.
Anyone have any info on this truck? I thinks is killer and pretty low looking too
I HAVE BEEN WONDERING ABOUT THE DATSUN ALSO.IS IT DONE OR NOT?
my hat's off to you guy's that are in the 40" to 44" range.it is a little easyer to get a short mini than a short full size(not by much thou).my '78 suburban that i am working on measures 44 1/2 to the top center of the roof. it sports a 6 3/4" chop,a 4" section and lays on the doors. a 225/60r15 hits the hood.the motor # wise should clear a stock hood with a interesting air cleaner.
