Why do i not get a spark?

I was drivin my truck and I pulled it in to park it. I turned the key off and tryed to start again, nothing only the engine rotates but when it was drivable it would miss and some times kill itself while I was driving. I had to push it through a few intersections and then let it sit for it to start again..... I know it gets to much gas and causes it to flood but why does it not get any sparks??? Im going to change the distributor and the coil also the ignition switch... Any dieas???

i would try the coil, ignition module and the pickup in the distributer
