fuel pump

hey i have an elelctric fuel pump on my dawg and i was wondering when i put my fuel cell in would it be easier to convert to a mechanical fuel pump up by the motor so i wouldnt have to fuck with all the wires or would it be easier to just leave the electric one? also my wires are a little fucked up that go to the fuel pump and i have it wired kinda wierd. so if any has any input on this it would be great.
