whats the machine called that you use to put the round notches in the end of the tubing so that it mates up with the roundness of the pipe your welding to? is it a particular machine or what do you use to do this?

you could be ghetto like me and use a hole saw in a drill press and clamp the tubing.

Its called a tubing notcher and it attaches the the base plate of a drill press

does it work 3day? also, i've seen people use a mill and run an endmill on the end until it gets the round shape but i thought there was a certain machine for it

It works really well if you don't get a cheap ass one from a place like harbor freight

define cheap ass...this one is on ebay for like $25. Sounds cheap and i live by you get what you pay for so whats a decent price to pay for a good one? I don't need it to be fancy or automatic or anything...any that incorporates my 18v cordless drill and a hole saw will work fine

yeah that one looks cool...so do you control how fast the hole saw feeds down into the pipe? or is it on like a worm gear to where when it turns it feeds on its own. Also does it bolt to a table or what

you control how fast it cuts by putting pressure in it. you can either use it in a drill press or on a table with a hand drill. heres another one altho it costs more its made by the same people that made my tube bender and that works well for me.

You can buy a fancy free standing machine also.They are quite expensive for the average DIY although my boss said that we may get one for at work---Sweet!
