narrow or new ford 9inch

I need my rearend narrowed and on the other forums must said to just narrow stock rearend. Here in cali it will coast me $900. Or I can spend $2600 and get a new ford 9inch with disc brakes,3.70gears, with posi. I just want your opinion if its worth the extra money.
