Cutting Glass

I am wanting to cut my windshield down on my 79 Toyota roadster and was wondering if there is anyway I can cut the glass myself or if I need to have a glass shop to do it?If I need to have a glass shop to do it does anyone know where and how much it would cost? I'm in Spokane Washington.. any help is greatly appreciated....Rob
