? for mazda gurus[russ-d,leif]

ok will a fuel pump for a 2200 work on my 2600i? my project didn't come with a gas tank and i found one for free but for 2200! i look in the chilton and doesn't specify a difference in fuel pumps just tank shapes!! any help would be appreciated!
