Mounting a shock upside down

I recently got rid of the cylinders in the rear of my car and i made brackets and have 2500's so i can lay out lower. I have a pair of nissan hardbody front shocks and im trying to figure out where to put them. I was wondering if they can be mounted upside down because that is my best option.
